Happy Tuesday everyone!
After much hard work and dedication, the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial has been made available to the public. Seeing this statue is such an inspiration to me and brings tears to my eyes. It not only represents Martin Luther King Jr, but it represents EVERYONE who fought for our rights and those who struggle each deal to be treated fairly in America and abroad! Reading, hearing stories from my elders, and seeing movies about the civil rights movement has instilled in me a since of pride and honor for those involved in the movement. What they went through had to take tremendous faith and courage!
I believe it is long over due and I am so proud to see it happen in my lifetime!
So much more to say...

“I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."
- Letter from Birmingham Jail, 1963
"If you give your life to a cause in which you believe, and if it is right and just, and if your life comes to an end as a result of this, then your life could not have been spent in a more redemptive way. I think that is what my husband has done."
- Coretta Scott King, April 9, 1968
