Are you living a Serenity Prayer lifestyle?

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
--Reinhold Niebuhr

Are you living a Serenity Prayer lifestyle? Are you truly trusting in God to help you to accept what you cannot change, give you courage to change what you can and to show you the difference? Sometimes in life for me this can be VERY difficult! I worry, am afraid, and wonder if I know what in the world I am doing here! Lol!

I love the rest of the serenity prayer that talks about enjoying each moment and accepting hardships as the path to peace. How many of us actually do this? It is something I am learning to remind myself to do each day. In the midst of the storm, I say to myself this will bring healing and peace. I say it over and over until I begin to feel calm.

What about you? What are you doing to live a Serenity Prayer lifestyle?

The Secret to Loving Health

Does "health" feel boring and restrictive to you?  Does it sound tedious and uninviting?  Do you hate the idea of denying yourself anything?

I hear ya.

It doesn't have to be that way.  I have a secret that will totally change the way you look at health.

Wanna hear it?

Come in close.

The secret to shifting the way you feel about health is the concept of ADDING IN.  Instead of thinking about what you "can't have," think about what you CAN have, each day, that will make you happier and healthier.

So, add in an extra glass of water.  Add in a green smoothie.  Add in some delicious, alkalizing veggies.  You get the idea.  When you add in all of this good stuff, it begins to crowd out the not-so-good stuff.  You won't have room for it anymore.  But, don't worry, you won't even miss it because your tastebuds will begin to change.  You'll begin to LOVE the fresh juiciness of all those fruits and veggies.  You'll begin to feel like the processed, junk foods taste fake and unappealing.

Each day, ask yourself, "What can I ADD IN today that will make me healthier and happier?"

See?  Feeling better about health already, aren't you?!

Handmade Autism Awareness Jewelry and More!

Blessings loves!

Do you know April is Autism awareness month? What is Autism you ask?

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. They include autistic disorder, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS) and Asperger syndrome. Read more at Autism Speaks.

1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys are diagnosed with autism. I have a close friend whose son is autistic and I created a few jewelry pieces to show support!

I also searched on Etsy for a bit and found some other beautiful handmade autism goodies! Here are a few!

42: The True Story of a Legend Jackie Robinson { A Different View }

Blessings loves!

After packing and moving things to our new place, I treated myself to go see 42: The Jackie Robinson Story.  Man I am so glad I did! This is such an awesome and inspiring movie and I say...GO SEE IT! Even if you are not a baseball fan...GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

It shows the struggle of Jackie, his wife, his teammates and the outside world as they learn to play with an African American man. Harrison Ford played Brooklyn Dodger General Manager, Branch Rickey and he was a BEAST in this movie! That is the best way I can describe it right now lol! You could tell he was a man of faith and I loved it! Chadwick Boseman was a great pick for Jackie Robinson and the supporting cast was terrific!

When Jackie first met Rickey, Rickey asked him what would he do when people called him names and wouldn't serve him because of his skin color. Jackie was so used to fighting back but Rickey asked him if he would have the guts to not fight back. What stuck out to me is when Jackie wanted to give up, Rickey would always tie it back to Jesus. There is a part when Jackie breaks down and wants to fight back. Rickey tells him you are just living the sermon. I was like WOW!  I really didn't expect that when going to see this movie. It really made me think about my own life and what sermon I am showing others.

At one point in the movie Jackie says "God built me to last". Another wow for me! I definitely need to meditate on that phrase during the trying times in my life.

I also loved that they showed the relationship between him and his wife. As a married woman, I am learning more and more each day how important it is for us to support our husbands. She always supported him. When he thought he might not make it on the Dodgers team, she told him she knew that he would. My husband recently told me that he believes that he has a great support system in me. That is one of the greatest compliments I have ever received because I know that is what God wants from me.

I love this clip of Rachel Robinson, Jackie's wife, as she talks about their relationship: Harrison Ford Talks 42: "The Things That Are Noble in America Are Really Represented in this Movie.

Such a great movie all around!

Have you seen it? What did you think about the movie?

Check 42 out on Facebook and the site.

Formula for Vibrant Health (and weight loss)!

Think back over the last 24 hours.  How much sleep did you get?  How much stress relief did you get?  How much did you move your body?  And, finally, how much fresh goodness (whole foods, leafy greens, veggies, fruit) did you nourish yourself with?  I really want you to give this some good thought, so I'll pause here and let you ponder.

Pausing.

Pausing.

Ok.  What's the verdict?  Good, or not so good?
See, I believe the formula for vibrant health (and, yes, even weight loss) is this (DAILY!):

Clean Eating + Adequate Sleep + Stress Reduction + Physical Activity = Happy Health
That's not so hard is it?  This simple formula will help bring your health back into balance, release excessive weight, lift brain fog, and make you a happier person all the way around!  Try it today.  Your life depends on it.
